SYNOPSIS
This amendment removes the reference to the Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in Public Rights of Way, when those guidelines are adopted and codified in the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations. This amendment also removes requirements which could affect installation and maintenance costs by doing the following: removes the requirement of 1 additional space reserved for wheelchair and scooter use for every 5 accessible parking spaces; removes the need for the accessible parking sign to display the maximum fine and removes the requirement for access aisles to have signs. Finally, the amendment clarifies that maintenance of accessible parking spaces refers to spaces located in parking lots and facilities. |
