| Long Title: | AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 18 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO UNFAIR PRACTICES IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY. |
| Synopsis: | In response to a recent effort by an auto insurance carrier to terminate the policy of a volunteer firefighter on the basis that he was a volunteer firefighter, this legislation is designed to protect volunteer firefighters and ambulance crewmembers from having their insurance affected by their status as emergency personnel. This legislation does not prevent insurers from using other accepted criteria, such as moving violations, to make adverse decisions regarding the insurance status of these emergency responders.
