| Long Title: | AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 26 OF THE DELAWARE CODE TO GRANT THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE FEDERAL PIPELINE SAFETY REGULATIONS AS IT PERTAINS TO NATURAL GAS. |
| Synopsis: | Section 814 establishes an intrastate pipeline safety program, consistent with the federal pipeline safety regulations, and grants the Commission the authority to administer the program and enforce its requirements. This amendment is necessary for the Commission to obtain federal certification under Section 60105(a), Title 49, United States Code, which will allow the Commission to maintain eligibility for federal grants relating to pipeline safety programs. Section 815 authorizes the Commission to enter into agreements with the federal Department of Transportation to participate in the oversight of interstate pipeline transportation.
