Long Title:AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 11 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO CONCEALED FIREARMS CARRIED BY QUALIFIED ACTIVE AND RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS.
Synopsis:The United States Congress passed, and the President signed into law, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004. That Act allows for both active duty and retired police officers to carry a concealed firearm on a nation-wide basis, so long as the officers have met certain requirements, including annual qualification and carrying a specific form of photographic identification.

The purpose of this bill is to provide standards and procedures by which the requirements of the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 may be met within the State of Delaware. The bill places upon the Attorney General, as the State's chief law enforcement officer, the responsibility for ensuring that the standards set forth in federal law have been met.
