| Long Title: | AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 16 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GAS CONTAINERS. |
| Synopsis: | This act makes it unlawful for a person to fill propane or other liquefied gas containers in excess of 85% of their water capacity. Overfilling propane tanks can be dangerous and cause explosions if problems with the relief valve cause the tank to over pressurize, which can occur with minor increases in temperature. The existing penalties for other violations of Chapter 72 of Title 16 (imprisonment for up to 90 days or a fine of up to $300.00) are applicable to violations of this act. As with the other provisions of Chapter 72, Title 16, small liquefied petroleum gas containers, having a capacity of 30 pounds or less, are exempt from the provisions of this act.
