| Long Title: | AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 21 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES. |
| Synopsis: | This Bill addresses several areas in the motor vehicles Code regarding who can “sponsor” a youth in foster care who wishes to obtain a driver’s license. The Bill also addresses the issue of liability for the “sponsor” should they sign. First the Bill clarifies the current statute to specifically allow a Division of Family Services case worker to sign for a youth in foster care to obtain a driver’s license in Delaware. Second, the Bill specifically exempts a Division of Family Services case worker who sponsors a youth in foster care from liability should that youth cause damages resulting from the youth’s negligence.
