House Bill # 401

Primary Sponsor: Hocker Additional Sponsor(s):    Rep. Carey & Rep. Walls & Sen. Bunting & Sen. Venables
CoSponsors: { NONE...}
Introduced on : 05/01/2008
Long Title:AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 7 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO USE OF AUTOMATIC-LOADING GUNS.
Synopsis:This legislation allows the use of unplugged shotguns to hunt snow geese and resident Canada geese when the federal government issues depredation of conservation orders. Populations of both species of waterfowl have increased rapidly and are damaging their breeding areas and wetlands in their wintering and breeding habitats. This legislation also modifies what is considered a plug and falls in line with manufacturers’ use of a plastic plug or filler made of plastic. This modification brings Delaware into line with industry practice but does not modify the requirement that guns be limited in shell capacity.
