| Long Title: | CREATING A TASK FORCE TO IMPLEMENT AND REVIEW A PILOT PROGRAM ALLOWING VEHICLE INSPECTIONS TO BE PERFORMED BY DELAWARE NEW FRANCHISE AUTOMOBILE AND TRUCK DEALERSHIPS. |
| Synopsis: | This Joint Resolution creates a Task Force and pilot program to determine the feasibility of allowing State-approved vehicle safety inspections to be performed by Delaware automobile and truck dealerships (New Franchise). This Act will not result in any loss of revenue by the State; any and all inspection fees that are collected by the New Franchise dealers shall be collected on behalf of the State and paid over thereto. The $20 fee charged by the New Franchise dealers shall be a “convenience” fee to the consumer for allowing additional, more convenient means to meet State inspection and emission requirements. All costs and expenses of the New Franchise dealers to implement the program shall be borne by the New Franchise dealers.
