This amendment provides that the medical coverage for children who would be eligible under this section will be provided only within the limit of the appropriation made for the program in the annual appropriations act, or any supplement thereto. Should the number of applicants exceed the appropriation, the Department is authorized to maintain a waiting list. This amendment also adds a section that limits the expenditure for this program to $1.5 million in FY2023, $2.5 million in FY2024, and $3.275 million in FY2025 and authorizes the Department to develop rules and regulations necessary to stay within the cap.
