AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 29 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO DISTRICT BOUNDARIES OF GENERAL ASSEMBLY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE AND SENATE DISTRICTS AND AUTHORIZING COUNTY GOVERNMENTS AND THE CITY OF WILMINGTON TO AMEND COUNCILMANIC AND LEVY COURT DISTRICT LINES.
This Act amends the district boundaries of all House and Senatorial districts in order to eliminate small geographic "pockets" that would otherwise require separate mandated election districts with only a few voters. The "pockets" will be incorporated into adjacent districts in order to reduce the cost of future elections. It also authorizes the county governments and the City of Wilmington to amend their councilmanic and Levy Court district lines to eliminate geographic pockets at the local level.
