This amendment removes the following exceptions from political subdivision business licensing requirements, fees or taxes on real estate licensees: (1) representing buyers in the purchase of real estate; and (2) rental of real estate for property owners or tenants, which prohibits municipalities from assessing special fees for activities not directly tied to economic activity. This amendment further replaces the exceptions with showing real estate to a prospective buyer, which provides municipalities with adequate time to budget for the reduced revenues.
