SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1
AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 29 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO STATE EMPLOYEES PENSION PLAN AND WAIVER OF BENEFITS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend §5503, Title 29 of the Delaware Code by inserting after the word "basis" and before the "," the following:
"or for benefits payable under Section 5546 of this Chapter."
Section 2. Amend §5546, Title 29 of the Delaware Code by inserting a new subsection (c) to read as follows:
"(c) Benefits granted under this section may be assigned to a licensed funeral home to cover the funeral and associated expenses of the deceased pensioner, subject to the signed consent of the beneficiary or his or her legal guardian using a form approved for such use by the Board of Pension Trustees."
