AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 115, VOLUME 69, LAWS OF DELAWARE, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO REINCORPORATE THE CITY OF HARRINGTON" RELATING TO ELECTIVE OFFICE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE (Two-thirds of all members elected to each house thereof concurring therein):
Section 1. Amend Chapter 115, Volume 69, Laws of Delaware, as amended, by striking in its entirety the section therein designated as "6.1 Date of Regular Municipal Election" and by substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"6.1 Date of Regular Municipal Election.
6.1.1 An annual municipal election shall be held on the first Tuesday of May of each year which shall be known as the Regular Municipal Election for the purpose of electing members of Council or the Mayor or both as the case may be to fill expired terms. All other elections that may be held shall be known as Special Municipal Elections."
Section 2. Amend Chapter 115, Volume 69, Laws of Delaware, as amended, by deleting the words "October" as found in Section 5.4, and by substituting in lieu thereof the words "April".
Section 3. Amend Chapter 115, Volume 69, Laws of Delaware by deleting from Sections 7.1, 7.2. and 8, the words "January" and by substituting in lieu thereof the words "June".
Section 4. Amend Chapter 115, Volume 69, Laws of Delaware, by deleting from Section 6.5.1, the word "November", and by substituting in lieu thereof the word "May".
