AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 11 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION OF SEX OFFENDERS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE :
Section 1. The Community Notification Task Force is hereby created to develop recommendations to implement community notification of sex offenders. The Task Force shall be co-chaired by the representatives of the Department of Education and the Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families. The Task Force shall also consist of representatives of the Office of the Child Advocate, the Division of State Police, Delaware Association of Local Chiefs of Police, Department of Correction, the Attorney General's Office, the Delaware Association of School Administrators, as well as five members of the public appointed by the co-chairs of the Task Force. Recommendations shall be presented to the members of the General Assembly and the Governor no later than March 31, 2002.
Section 2. Amend §4121(a)(1), Title 11 of the Delaware Code, by adding the following to the end thereof:
"Each school and school district shall implement this Act no later than April 15, 2002."
