AN ACT CONCURRING IN A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE II, SECTION 15, OF THE 1897 CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE, RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION, EXPENSES AND ALLOWANCES OF MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
WHEREAS, an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Delaware was proposed in the 127th General Assembly, being Chapter 447, Volume 59, Laws of Delaware, as follows:
"AN ACT PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE II, SECTION 15 OF THE 1897 CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE, RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION, EXPENSES AND ALLOWANCES OF MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Delaware [two-thirds of the members of each house thereof concurring therein]:
Section 1. Amend Article H, Section 15 of the 1897 Constitution of the State of Delaware by striking the present Section 15 in its entirety, and substituting in lieu thereof a new Section 15 which shall read as follows:
§15. Compensation, Expenses and Allowances of Members The President of the Senate and members of the General Assembly shall receive an annual salary and an annual expense allowance for transportation and such other necessary and proper purposes as the General Assembly shall by law provide. Funds appropriated hereunder shall be paid out of the Treasury of the State."'
