AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 170, VOLUME 57, LAWS OF DELAWARE, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO RE-INCORPORATE THE CITY OF LEWES" TO PERMIT VOTING IN THE ANNUAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION BY ABSENTEE BALLOT AND RELATING TO THE TOWN BUDGET AND THE LEVYING OF ANNUAL TAXES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Delaware (Two-thirds of all the members elected to each branch thereof concurring therein):

Section 1. Amend Section 7, Chapter 170, Volume 57, Laws of Delaware, as amended, by adding at the end thereof a new subsection (h) to read as follows:

"(h) The City Council of the City of Lewes may, by Ordinance, provide for any qualified registered voter to cast an absentee ballot if such qualified registered voter shall be unable to cast his ballot at any Annual Municipal Election either because of being in the Public Service of the United States or of this State, or because of the nature of his business or occupation, or because of his sickness or physical disability."

Section 2. Amend subsection (a), Section 27, Chapter 170, Volume 57, Laws of Delaware, by striking the word "February" as it appears in said subsection and substituting in lieu thereof the word "March".

Section 3. Amend subsection (b), Section 30,Chapter 170, Volume 57, Laws of Delaware, by striking the word "March" as it appears in said subsection, and substituting in lieu thereof the word "February".
