AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 45, TITLE 21, DELAWARE CODE, RELATING TO SIZE AND WEIGHT OF VEHICLES AND LOADS.
Be it enacted by the General Assemly of the State of Delaware:
Section 1. Amend §4502, Chapter 45, Title 21, Delaware Code, by striking the number "55" as it appears in subsection (c), and inserting in lieu thereof the number "60".
Section 2. Amend §4503, Chapter 45, Title 21, Delaware Code, by striking the figures "36,000" as they appear in subsection (a) and inserting in lieu thereof the figures "40,000".
Section 3. Amend §4503, Chapter 45, Title 21, Delaware Code, by adding the words "or (h)" after the words "subsection (g)" in subsection (a).
Section 4. Amend §4503, Chapter 45, Title 21, Delaware Code, by striking subsection (d) in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection (d) to read as follows:
"(d) The total gross weight imposed on Federal Interstate highways by any group of two (2) or more consecutive axles of a vehicle or of any combination of vehicles shall not exceed that given on the following table for the respective distances between the centers of the first and last axles of said two (2) or more consecutive axles; provided, however, that none of the provisions of the subsection shall apply to or govern the total or maximum gross weight of any vehicle described or defined in subsections (g) or (h) of this section:

Section 5. Amend §4503, Chapter 45, Title 21,
Delaware Code, by adding the following new subsections:
"(i) The total gross weight, including load, of a combination tractor and semi-trailer having a total of 4 axles shall not exceed 70,000 lbs.
(j) The total gross weight, including load, of a combination tractor and semi-trailer having a total of 5 or more axles shall not exceed 80,000 lbs.
(k) The total gross weight, including load, of a combination tractor and semi-trailer having a total of 3 axles shall not exceed 60,000 lbs.
(I) The total gross weight, including load, of a single motor vehicle with 2 axles shall not exceed 40,000 lbs.
(m) The total gross weight, including load, of any combination of vehicles shall not exceed 80,000 lbs."
