PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, hospitality to the stranger in our midst is one of the oldest traditions of our society; and
WHEREAS, the rich history, natural beauty and the recreational facilities of the State of Delaware attract large numbers of visitors from other states and nations; and
WHEREAS, the Society of American Travel Writers is conducting its fourth annual Welcome A Visitor Observance during the third week of June; and
WHEREAS, President Nixon has requested all Americans to support and encourage this program;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, RUSSELL W. PETERSON, Governor of the State of Delaware, do hereby proclaim the week of June 14 — 20, 1971, as
in Delaware and encourage residents of the First State to extend all possible courtesy and assistance to visitors to our State in order that they may feel the warmth of our welcome to them.
