PROCLAMATION
Whereas, we
honor the father of the home
for
his concern
for the well-being
of his family, for his
endeavor to
inculcate qualities in his children for good citizenship;
and
Whereas,
we
think of the father
as
the interpreter of
ethics and
faith
such that will
Ultimately benefit his fellowman;
and
Whereas,
it is fitting that we honor our fathers
with a special day;
Now,
therefore, I,
Russell W. Peterson, Governor of the State
of Delaware, do
hereby proclaim Sunday, June 21, 1970,
as
FATHER'S DAY
in Delawar
e,
and
urge
all
residents of the First State to observe
t
he day in
appropr
iate manner, such as during
worship services, commemorating
in
some special
way the father.
