GOVERNOR OF THE SAID STATE

To all Per sons to whom these Present s shall come, Greeting:

Whereas, an election was held in the State of Delaware, on Tuesday, the third day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventy, that being the Tuesday next after the first Monday in said month, in pursuance of the Constitution and Laws of the State of Delaware, in t hat behalf, for the election of an ATTORNEY GENERAL of the State of Delaw are.

AND WHEREAS, the official certificates or returns, of the said election, held in the severa l counties of the said State, h aving been duly received and examined by the Governor, it appears from them that the votes in said county respectively for such ATTORNEY GENERAL were cast as follows, to wit:

NEW CASTLE COUNTY

Andrew G. T. Moore, II 48,152

W. Laird Stabler, Jr. 63,517

KENT COUNTY

Andrew G. T. Moore, II 10,321

W. Laird Stabler, Jr. 9,443

Howard Ennis, Jr. 7

Ralph Mills 1

Jack Russell 1

SUSSEX COUNTY

Andrew G. T. Moore, II 12,757

W. Laird Stabler, Jr. 12,982

AND WHEREAS, the said returns of the election as aforesaid, dul y made out, signed and executed, having been duly deliv ered to the Governor by the Superior Court of said counties, and the Governor having examined said returns as aforesaid, and enumerated and ascertained the number of votes for each and every candidate or person voted for, for such ATTORNEY GENERAL the result appears as follows, to wit:

Whole number of votes for Andrew G. T. Moore, II. 71,230

Whole number of votes for W. Laird Stabler, Jr. 85,942

Whole number of votes for Howard Ennis, Jr. 7

Whole number of votes for Ralph Mills 1

Whole number of votes for Jack Russell 1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Russell W. Peterson, Governor of the State of Delaware, do hereby declare that W. Laird Stabler, Jr. has received the highest vote at the election aforesaid, and there fore has been and is duly and legally elected the ATTORNEY GENERAL of and for the State of Delaware.

GIVEN UNDER MY HAND and the Great Seal of the said State, at Dover, the twenty-seventh day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventy and of the Independence of the said State the one hundred and ninety-fifth.
