GOVERNOR OF THE SAID STATE

To all Person s to whom the se Pre s ent s shall come, Greeting:

WHEREAS, an election was held in the State of Delaware, on Tuesday, third day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventy, that being the Tuesday next after the first Monday in said month, in pursuance of the Constitution and Laws of the State of Delaware, in that behalf, for the election of a STATE TREASURER of the State of D e laware.

AND WHEREAS, the official certificates or returns, of the said election, held in the several counties of the said State, having been duly received and examined by the Governor, it appears from them that the votes in said county respectively for such STATE TREASURER were cast as follows, to wit:

NEW CASTLE COUNTY

Emily Womach 52,838

Daniel J. Ross 56,953

David P. Hitchcock 1,583

KENT COUNTY

Emily Womach 11,562

Daniel J. Ross 8,108

David P. Hitchcock 248

Russell W. Peterson 1

SUSSEX COUNTY

Emily Womach 14,754

Daniel J. Ross 11,006

David P. Hitchcock 317

Abbie Hoffman 1

AND WHEREAS, the said returns of the election as aforesaid, duly made out, signed and executed, having been duly delivered to the Governor by the Superior Court of said counties, and the Governor having examined said returns as aforesaid, and enumerated and ascertained the number of votes for each and every candidate or person voted for, for such STATE TREASURER the result appears as follows, to wit:

Whole number of votes for Emily Womach 79,154

Whole number of votes for Daniel J. Ross 76,067

Whole number of votes for David P. Hitchcock 2,148

Whole number of votes for Russell W. Peterson 1

Whole number of votes for Abbie Hoffman 1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Russell W. Peterson, Governor of the State of Delaware, do hereby declare that Emily Womach has received the highest vote at the election aforesaid, and therefore, has been and is duly and legally elected the STATE TREASURER of and for the State of Delaware.

GIVEN UNDER MY HAND and the Great Seal of the said State, at Dover, the twenty-seventh day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventy and of the Independence of the said State the one hundred and ninety-fifth.
