CHAPTER 26 - APPROPRIATION - UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE AGRICULTURAL SUBSTATION

AN ACT APPROPRIATING CERTAIN MONIES TO THE UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE AGRICULTURAL SUBSTATION AT GEORGETOWN.

WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution adopted by the Senate of the 109th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Governor did appoint a Poultry Committee for the purpose of making a study of the poultry industry in Sussex County and to report their findings and recommendations to the present Session of the General Assembly of the State of Delaware;

AND WHEREAS, said Poultry Committee has made their report and recommended, inter alia, an appropriation for the development, maintenance and operation of the Agricultural Sub-Station at Georgetown;

NOW, THEREFORE, be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:

Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated t9 the University of Delaware for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1945 the sum of Fourteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($14,- 500.00), and for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1946 a like sum of Fourteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($14,500.00) for the development, maintenance and operation of the Agricultural Sub-Station at Georgetown. Of the appropriation for each fiscal year, the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) shall be used for maintenance and operation, and the sum of Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($4,500.00) shall be used solely for the construction of new poultry houses on the site where said Sub-Station is erected.

Section 2. That the said moneys so appropriated., shall be paid by the State Treasurer upon warrants drawn by the State Auditor upon vouchers approved, submitted and signed by the proper officers of the University of Delaware.

Section 3. That this Act shall be known as a Supplementary Appropriation Act and the moneys hereby appropriated shall be paid out of the General Fund of the State Treasury, not otherwise appropriated.
