CHAPTER 100 - STATE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE ADDITION TO STATE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE BUILDING
AN ACT MAKING PROVISION FOR AN ADDITION TO THE BUILDING IN DOVER HOUSING THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND FOR THE ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO CONDUCT DIAGNOSTIC AND CONTROL WORK WITH A SPECIAL REFERENCE TO DISEASES OF POULTRY AND DAIRY CATTLE; AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISION OF THE ACT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:
Section 1. The State Board of Agriculture is hereby authorized to proceed with plans for an addition of appropriate size to the building now housing the said department, and to cause said addition to be constructed at the earliest practicable date.
Section 2. The State Board of Agriculture is authorized to make such changes in the present building occupied by it as will enable it to more efficiently carry on the work that has been assigned to it by various Laws of the State of Delaware. The said Board is also authorized to equip the additional building herein authorized and the present building with such plumbing, heating and other facilities as are needed for its activities and with special reference to diagnostic and control work of diseases of poultry and dairy cattle.
Section 3. There is hereby appropriated to the said State Board of Agriculture the sum of Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000.00) out of any moneys in the General Fund not otherwise appropriated for the purpose of building the addition herein authorized and the renovation and improvement of the present building and for the additional equipment and apparatus that may be needed for the diagnostic and control work of the said Board. Such appropriation or so much thereof, as may be needed shall be paid out by the State Treasurer upon vouchers signed by the President and Secretary of the State Board of Agriculture.
Section 4. The State Board of Agriculture is authorized to employ such needed assistants as may be necessary to prepare plans for the addition herein authorized and for such changes in the existing building as may be deemed necessary including an architect or architects; to enter into agreements and contracts, necessary to carry on the work of alteration, renovation or reconstruction of the present building and the construction of the proposed addition thereto; to purchase and have installed by contract or otherwise, plumbing, heating and other equipment and apparatus needed to carry on the work of the Department. All plans for the erection, reconstruction, alteration or renovation proposed by the State Board of Agriculture shall be subject to the approval of the State Building and Grounds Commission created by Chapter 211, Volume 44, Laws of Delaware, 1943.
Section 5. This Act shall be known as a Supplementary Appropriation Act and the money hereby appropriated shall be paid out of any moneys in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
