CHAPTER 289 - MOTOR VEHICLES IN RELATION TO ISSUING CHAUFFEUR'S LICENSE IN CERTAIN CASES
AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 165 OF THE REVISED CODE OF DELAWARE, 1935, ENTITLED "MOTOR VEHICLES" IN RELATION TO ISSUING CHAUFFEUR'S LICENSE IN CERTAIN CASES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:
Section 1. That Chapter 165 of the Revised Code of Delaware, 1935, as amended, by Chapter 246, Volume 43, Laws of Delaware, 1941, be and the same is hereby further amended by inserting after the first paragraph marked (a) of 5592. Sec. 54. thereof a new paragraph to be a part of (a), 5592. Sec. 54. as follows:
As an emergency measure, to be effective only during the continuance of the war in Europe and three months thereafter, the Motor Vehicle Commissioner, for a fee of one dollar ($1.00), may issue a limited chauffeur's license to persons seventeen years of age or older who have a valid Delaware operator's license, a good driving record, and who are covered by insurance, satisfactory to the Commissioner, to protect the public against injury and damage; such license shall be valid within the limits of the State of Delaware only, and all laws of the State pertaining to the suspension or revocation of licenses issued to operators or chauffeurs shall also apply to the limited chauffeur's licenses herein authorized.
