CHAPTER 302 - STATE HOUSING BOARD AUTHORIZING BOARD TO EMPLOY A SECRETARY

AN ACT TO AMEND ARTICLE 1 OF CHAPTER 160 OF THE REVISED CODE OF DELAWARE, 1935, ENTITLED "STATE HOUSING BOARD" BY STRIKING OUT THE SECOND SENTENCE OF SECTION 5 OF SAID CHAPTER AND SUBSTITUTING A NEW SECOND SENTENCE, AUTHORIZING THE STATE BOARD OF HOUSING TO EMPLOY A SECRETARY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:

Section 1. That Section 5 of Chapter 160 of the Revised Code of Delaware, 1935, shall be and it is hereby amended by striking the second sentence therefrom and substituting for said second sentence a new second sentence so that said Section 5 of said Chapter 160 shall read as follows:

Sec. 5. Organization of Board; Election of President; Employment of Secretary of Board; Annual Salary Fixed by Board; Meetings of Board; By-Laws; Assistants and Expenses:--The Board shall annually organize by electing a President, who shall be a member of the Board. The Board may employ a Secretary of the Board. He shall receive an annual salary to be fixed by the Board, but lie shall not be a member of the Board. He shall continue in office until removed by the election of a successor or by vote of a majority of the board. The Board shall meet at least once in every three months, and oftener if necessary, and three members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. The Board is authorized to frame such by-laws as may be necessary to govern their proceedings. The said Board shall be authorized to employ such assistants and incur such reasonable expense as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Chapter.
