CHAPTER 365 - STATE OF DELAWARE - EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, under the sponsorship of the United States Maritime Commission and the United States Navy, a shipyard safety conference will be conducted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 28, 29 and 30, 1944, and
WHEREAS, this conference will be attended by Management and Labor officials and Department heads; Safety and Training directors; Women's Counselors, and representatives of the Navy and Maritime Commission, and,
WHEREAS, the aims of the conference are to further improve the safety of the thousands of men and women and to reduce the number of accidents during 1944 in the shipyards of the East Coast Region,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Walter W. Bacon, Governor of the State of Delaware, because of the high purposes of the conference, do hereby proclaim the week of March 26-April 1, 1944, as
"SHIPYARD SAFETY WEEK"
and urge all of our people to recognize and give full assistance to this very worthwhile safety conference.
