FREE SCHOOLS
AN ACT to amend An Act entitled "An Act to Provide for the Establishment and Maintenance of a General and Efficient System of Free Public Schools," approved March 31, 1921. . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:
Section 1. That the Act entitled "An Act to amend An Act entitled 'An Act to Provide for the Establishment and Maintenance of a General and Efficient System of Free Public Schools'," approved March 31, 1921, be and the same is hereby amended, as follows:
1. By inserting in Section 11 of said Act after the word "election" in the twenty-seventh line of said Section a new sentence, as follows: "If no person voted for at the said election shall receive a plurality of the votes, a new election shall be held on the Saturday then next following, and all the provisions of law respecting the annual school election shall apply to such new election except as to the day of holding the same."
2. By inserting in Section 19 of said Act after the word "Board" in the forty-fourth line of said Section a new sentence, as follows: "If no person voted for at the said election shall receive a plurality of the votes, a new election shall be held on the Saturday then next following, and all the provisions of law respecting the annual school election shall apply to such new election except as to the day of holding the same."
3. By inserting in Section 52 of said Act between the word "purposes" and the word "and" in the third line of said Section 52 the following clause in parenthesis : (whether or not the proposed Building Program filed under the provisions of Section 50 of this Act contemplated the acquisition of land for school purposes)."
