CHAPTER 387 - STATE OF DELAWARE - EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, we need every ounce of manpower and material to assure victory and bring our fighting men home from foreign lands; and
WHEREAS, the National Safety Council is conducting a Nation-wide campaign to reduce the annual toll of accidents which reaches a peak during the Christmas-New Year holiday seasons and causes added and unnecessary grief; and
WHEREAS, the Delaware Safety Council is cooperating with the National Safety Council in the Nation-wide campaign to reduce these holiday accident tolls;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Walter W. Bacon, Governor of the State of Delaware, do hereby designate and proclaim the period December 17, 1944-January 4, 1945, for the observance of the
CHRISTMAS-NEW YEAR SAFETY CAMPAIGN
and call upon every citizen to enlist in this campaign to prevent all accidents; and further, I hope that extreme care will be exercised by everyone in this regard throughout the coming year.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed the Great Seal of the State of Delaware, at Dover, this fourteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, and of the Independence of the United States of America, the one hundred and sixty-ninth.
