CHAPTER 201 - STATE COLLEGE FOR COLORED STUDENTS CHANGING TENURE OF OFFICE OF TRUSTEES
AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 73 OF THE REVISED CODE OF DELAWARE, 1935 ENTITLED "STATE COLLEGE FOR COLORED STUDENTS", BY CHANGING THE TENURE OF OFFICE OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES THEREOF.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:
Section 1. That 2793. Sec. 1 of Chapter 73 of the Revised Code of Delaware, 1935, be amended by striking out all of said 2793. Sec. 1. of said Chapter 73 and inserting in lieu thereof a new Section to be known as 2793. Sec. 1., as follows:
2793. Sec. 1. Trustees How Appointed; Terms of Office; Vacancies:--The Governor, on the first Tuesday in June, nineteen hundred and forty-five shall appoint and commission six (6) respectable and well qualified persons, two (2) from each County, who shall constitute the Board of Trustees for the State College for Colored Students. The terms of office of those members first appointed shall be for one, two, three, four, five and six years and the Governor shall designate the term for which each said appointee shall hold, and thereafter the terms of office of said trustees shall be for the period of six (6) years; any vacancy occurring in said Board by reason of death, resignation or otherwise, shall be filled by the Governor for the unexpired term.
