AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 17, TITLE 24 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE UNIFORM ANATOMICAL GIFT ACT: AND REQUIRING THAT A BLOOD SAMPLE BE TAKEN FROM THE DONOR.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend §1786, Subchapter VIII, Chapter 17, Title 24 of the Delaware Code by re- designating subsection (b) as new subsection (c). and by re designating each subsequent subsection accordingly.
Section 2. Amend §1786, Suchapter VIII, Chapter 17. Title 24 of the Delaware Code by adding thereto a new subsection. designated as subsection (b), which new subsection shall read as follows:
"(b) A surgeon, physician. funeral director or eye bank technician who is authorized to remove any part in accordance with this subchapter is also authorized to draw or secure a blood sample from the donor. In order to screen the tissue received for medical purposes."
