AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 21 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO FIRE ENGINEERS, CHIEF ENGINEERS, DEPUTY FIRE CHIEFS, AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLES, WARNING DEVICES FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES, AND LIGHTING EQUIPMENT.

Sections 1, 2 and 3 adds the phrase “deputy fire chief” to 21 Del. C. §4106(e) and §4307(b) since many fire departments currently have this position. Further it removes the position of “fire engineer” and “chief fire engineer” from the Delaware Code and substitutes the phrase “chief engineer” to unify the Code. Section 4 provides that flashing headlights for emergency personnel can be installed on vehicles by persons other than by the vehicle’s original vehicle manufacturer. Author: Sen. Ennis
