This Amendment clarifies that individuals who own, possess, harbor or control a dog are prohibited from allowing the dog to cause a noise disturbance as defined in the Act. This Amendment excludes animal shelters, pet stores, dog grooming facilities, veterinarian offices and animal clinics from the prohibition regarding barking dogs. This Amendment clarifies that police officers may assist animal welfare officers in enforcing dog control laws of the state or a political subdivision. This Amendment changes the effective date from January 1, 2024 to July 1, 2024.
