Under this amendment, a licensed veterinary technician may administer a rabies vaccine to a dog or cat, provided that the licensed veterinary technician is working under the indirect supervision of a licensed veterinarian, and the animal is in a shelter and is owned by the shelter. In such cases, the vaccination certificate must be signed by the supervising licensed veterinarian and the licensed veterinary technician responsible for the administration of the vaccine.
