AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 11 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE DELAWARE COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL POLICE/FIREFIGHTER PENSION PLAN.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend Title 11 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strikethrough and insertions as shown by underline as follows:
(a) After July 1, 2016, upon the death of a member under this chapter, a benefit will be paid in the same manner as benefits provided under § 5546 of Title 29.
(b) The benefit granted under this section shall not be construed as a contractual obligation of the State or of the Fund and may be revised or terminated by an act of the General Assembly.
Section 2. This Act shall be known as “Captain Christopher M. Leach, Lieutenant Jerry W. Fickes, and Lieutenant Ardythe D. Hope’s Law”.
