AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 9 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO THE GENERAL POWERS OF THE GOVERNMENT OF KENT COUNTY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE :
Section 1. Amend § 4110, Title 9 of the Delaware Code, by striking subsection (b) thereof in its entirety and by substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"(b) This grant of power includes the power to (i) fix a tax rate upon the assessed valuation of all real property in Kent County, subject to assessment by the County; (ii) fix an additional tax rate upon the assessed valuation of all real property, subject to assessment, located in unincorporated areas in Kent County for the limited purpose of providing financial support for public safety services to be provided by the County, or its agents to unincorporated areas of Kent County; and/or (iii) add a surcharge on any application for a building permit issued by the County in an amount not to exceed .5% of the construction value applicable to said building permit application to provide funding for volunteer fire companies."
