CHAPTER 72
LEVY COURT OF NEV CASTLE COUNTY
AN ACT in relation to the Levy Court of New Castle County and imposing certain powers and duties upon the Commissioners thereof. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:
Section 1. That the Levy Court of New Castle County is hereby ordered and directed to sell and dispose of all automobiles which are now kept for the use of the Levy Court Commissioners of said New Castle County, within sixty (60) days from the time this Act shall become a law, and thereafter it shall be unlawful for the said Levy Court to own, keep or Automobiles or Levy possess any automobile or automobiles for the use of the said Levy Court Commissioners or of any of them.
Section 2. The Levy Court Commissioners aforesaid, shall be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to provide not exceeding three (3) automobiles, one of which may be a truck, for the use of the engineers and surveyors employed by the said Levy Court, and the State Highway Commissioner, provided, however, that the sum available for the purchase, maintenance and upkeep of the said automobiles shall not exceed the sum of three thousand dollars ($3000.00) in any one year, and the amount expended for new automobiles shall not exceed eight hundred dollars ($800.00) for any one automobile.
Section 3. The said Levy Court shall be allowed their necessary traveling expenses in connection with the duties of their office, which said expenses shall not exceed in any one year, for the total aggregate expenses of all of the members of the Levy Court, the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2500.00).
Section 4. The Levy Court Commissioners, aforesaid shall prepare a detailed and itemized statement every three months in relation to all road work in New Castle County, and shall cause said statement to be published in pamphlet form.
Section 5. Any person who in any manner violated any of the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall he punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or both in the discretion of the Court.
