CHAPTER 208.
OF ATTACHMENTS.
AN ACT RELATING TO THE ATTACHMENT OF VESSELS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Delaware in General Assembly met:
Section 1. That ships and vessels of all kinds built, repaired, fitted, furnished and supplied with necessities for navigation within this State shall be subject to a lien for all debts contracted by the builders, owners, masters, agents or consignees thereof for work done, or materials and supplies found or provided in the building, repairing, fitting, furnishing, supplying or equipping of the same in preference to any other debt due from the builders, masters, owners, agents or consignees thereof, except for salvage, and that the same shall be a lien upon the said ship or vessel in the same manner as if the same had been furnished outside of this State, and in a port foreign to the home port of said ship or vessel.
Section 2. The lien aforesaid shall continue for and during the period of two years next after the work is done or the materials or supplies are furnished or provided to said ship or vessel, and no longer.
Section 3. The lien for work done or materials and supplies furnished as aforesaid; shall exist in favor of all ship builders, ship chandlers, merchants, dealers, tradesmen and mechanics for all work done or materials and supplies furnished or provided in or about the building, repairing, fitting, furnishing, supplying or equipping of such ships or vessels.
Section 4. This Act shall be deemed and taken to be a public Act.
